I have somehow managed to find a little time this afternoon to catch you all up on what has been happening around the Spicer house lately. I guess it could be because we are currently in "naptime" zone at the house. Speaking of I have to tell you something funny...Paige is now 4 and has for a few months really not needed a daily nap. She is good for a nap every couple of days. So, even though I didn't want to give up total naptime here I have started allowing her to take a "rest" instead of a nap. She gets a couple of books, her soft blanket and lays on the couch until the timer goes off. She is happy and I still get a little quiet time in the afternoons since the other two girls are asleep. The funniest part of this is she almost always falls asleep on the couch. Oh well, it works for me!
OK, on to what I really sat down to share! This past weekend we had a great time celebrating V-Day. It started early on Thursday night...Derek called home on his way home and invited Paige to go on her very first date. Our local pottery place was having a daddy date nig

ht so Derek asked Paige if she wanted to go to eat and then to paint pottery. I really wish Derek could have been on this end of the phone...she was THRILLED! Chloe...not so much. She doesn't like to be left out so we had special mommy time which was nice too. The sweetest thing was Paige getting ready. She got dressed up and then put on her jewelry and then had to get out the body spray and lipgloss. That is what she is doing in the pic...spraying body spray on the bottom of her shoes...hey if that is where she wants to smell good...let her! : ) She was all dolled up. They ended up painting me the sweetest little jewelry box...and Paige did it all by herself.

It meant so much to me for Derek to do this...we are going to try to make this a tradition. How else will they know exactly how they should be treated some FAR AWAY DAY?!?

Paige had her V-day party at school on Friday and it was wild, crazy and fun all at the same time. Derek and I celebrated Valentine's Day in with a special dinner after the kids were in bed...it was nice.

The next big thing I have going starts this Sunday...I am joining a Women Run Arkansas running clinic.
Hey seems like the most proper thing to do since my last big thing was to learn to decorate cakes! I am so excited about this...we meet during the week and are training for a 5K in May. I would consider that to be quite and accomplishment. There is no desire here to start a marathon circut but a 5K sounds like a blast. Say a prayer for me that I will be able to balance everything and get to enjoy a little time to take care of myself! Thanks for the encouraging words in advance!
Well, I think that gets us mostly caught up...hope this little note finds you doing well. Thanks for reading!!
